North Side Wendy's robbed, possibly at gunpoint

A North Side fast food restaurant was held up and the robber may have been armed with a gun, said police.

The robbery occurred around 10:50 p.m., at the Wendy's at 2312 North Ashland Avenue, in Chicago's Lincoln Park, DePaul neighborhood, said police.

Citing police dispatch reports, a black male entered the hamburger place, implied he had a gun, and stole an unspecified amount of money from the register.

The suspect was wearing a black t-shirt with white stripes and black dress pants, said investigators.

According to an eyewitness, the offender may have fled the scene in a beige-colored, four-door Ford Taurus.

No further details are available.

UPDATE: According to authorities, the thief stole $248. The request for an evidence technician was canceled, because an employee contaminated the crime scene, said police.
