1 arrest after man shot in Uptown alley

Police are investigating the latest shooting in Chicago's North Side Uptown neighborhood.

At approximately 7:06 p.m., multiple 911 callers reported shots fired on the 5000 block of North Kenmore Avenue.

Approximately two minutes later, a Chicago police officer found a 33-year-old shooting victim in the alley behind 5041 North Kenmore.

Authorities immediately issued a flash for a black male shooter wearing an orange shirt and white pants.

Citing police dispatch reports, the gunman was headed northbound on Kenmore.

Around 7:10 p.m., the alleged shooter was arrested at 5311 North Kenmore, said police.

When the reported shooter was taken into custody, he was no longer wearing a shirt and he had ditched his weapon, said authorities.

However, thanks to an eyewitness, a revolver was recovered in an alley behind 5240 North Sheridan Road.

At the time of this report, the victim, who was shot in the leg, was transported to Weiss Memorial Hospital in good condition.

Sources said the suspect was positively identified as the shooter.

    1. Ikr. Not enough of this. If the police exterminated the shooter on sight I'd say its perfect.
