At approximately 8 p.m., multiple gunshots were reported in the area of Magnolia and Montrose, Magnolia and Sunnyside, and Magnolia and Wilson.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found a shooting victim in an alley on the 1200 block of West Sunnyside Avenue.
According to eyewitnesses, the shooters were several black males in a gold-colored minivan.
The alleged getaway vehicle was last seen headed westbound on Montrose from Magnolia, said police.
Another source described the shooters as two blacks males, 15 to 17-years-old, who fled on foot.
The offenders are possible Vice Lords from the Sheridan and Windsor area, said one cop at the scene.
At the time of this report, the shooting victim’s condition was unclear.
UPDATE: One offender was reportedly armed with an assault rifle.
According to a tipster, around the time of the shooting, two black males were seen running into an apartment building on the southwest corner of Racine and Sunnyside.
UPDATE: At 8:46 p.m., a concerned citizen reported apparent gang members harassing passersby on the 4500 block of North Magnolia.
The gang tactical unit was immediately dispatched to the area.
UPDATE: It appears the shooters have been arrested!
Around 10 p.m., an eagle-eyed citizen reported suspicious activity inside a vehicle on the 800 block of West Monstrose.
Citing police dispatch, the 911 caller saw several black males inside a tan car, passing a silver gun around.
Officers swarmed the area and stopped the vehicle near the intersection of Windsor and Clarendon, where an unspecified number of suspects were arrested.
An investigator said the arrests are related to the shooting near Truman College.
