Cops: Woman wanted for attempted Uptown robbery

Authorities are looking for a female suspect who tried to rob a victim in Chicago’s North Side Uptown neighborhood, said officials.

Citing police communications, the incident happened around 1:29 a.m. on the 4600 block of North Malden Street, near Malden and Wilson.

A black woman in her 20s, wearing a turquoise tank top and a head wrap, pulled a knife and attempted to the rob the victim, said police.

Afterwards, the female suspect fled southbound on Malden toward Wilson Avenue, according to police dispatch reports.

Investigators recovered a knife in the area of 4615 North Malden Street.

Approximately fifteen minutes after the attempted robbery occurred on Malden, another 911 caller reported someone screaming for help on the 4600 block of North Beacon Street.

However, as of 2 a.m., there was no indication the alleged incident on Beacon was bona fide.

  1. Is the woman who tried to stab Ald. Cappleman out on bail? Hope they get fingerprints off the knife.
