Lakeview fire displaces 1 -- Rogers Park accident ignites car-fire

Tuesday evening, authorities were busy working two fires in two separate North Side neighborhoods.

At least one person was displaced by a fire in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood.

The fire, which was reported around 9:32 p.m., erupted at 4024 North Ashland Avenue, near Ashland and Irving Park Road.

An initial police dispatch report indicated there were flames shooting from the building.

It’s unclear if there were any injuries.

Farther north, a 10 p.m. car accident in the city’s Rogers Park community left a vehicle engulfed in flames.

Authorities said the crash occurred on the 1300 block of West Estes Avenue, near Estes and Glenwood.

According to various reports, four to seven cars were involved in the wreck.

A Hispanic male driver, who was possibly armed with a weapon, fled the scene of the accident… but he was quickly apprehended by police.
