Report: Shots fired in Wrigleyville Carjacking

Police are investigating a carjacking in Chicago’s Wrigleyville, Lakeview neighborhood.

Around 10:30 p.m., several disturbances were reported on the 1000 block of West Byron Street.

The first complaint indicated neighbors were arguing and gunshots were fired on Byron Street, between Alta Vista Terrace and Kenmore Avenue.

Updated information suggested the previous complaint was related to a carjacking.

Citing police dispatch reports, four or five male Hispanics stole a woman’s blue, Chrysler Sebring.

During the vehicular hijacking, one offender fired several shots at the victim’s son - who was reportedly chasing the carjackers, according to a preliminary report.

One suspect has triangular symbols tattooed underneath both eyes and he is a muscular build, said police.

The offenders were last seen driving northbound on Seminary, then eastbound on West Irving Park Road.

If more details become available, this article will be updated accordingly.

UPDATE: At 11:58 p.m., police found the stolen vehicle at 3643 North Paulina Street.
