Citing police dispatch reports, authorities discovered a dead body at a North Side Edgewater neighborhood beach.
Around 6:26 a.m., a 911 caller saw someone laying on the sand, about 2-feet away from the water, at Lane Beach Park, also known as Thorndale Avenue Beach, at 5915 North Sheridan Road.
At least two people called authorities to report the sighting, but neither caller was sure if the person was male or female.
When a responding officer was asked about the person's condition, he said it appears to be a DOA.
Authorities later described the deceased as a man, possibly in his 40s.

I hope the victim wasn't white.
ReplyDelete^ Oh please. And the Wisconsin transplants taking pictures of this lighthouse like they've never seen one before. If they'd only zoom capture the reality of it with graffiti, "roaches" and beer bottle caps left on it along with that guy dressed in all black aggressively pursuing everything in it's path since 2008 (when I first noticed), I'd be more impressed with their view of "art". I hadn't been there in 3 years but he's still there - in the same all black outfit stomping around on his stomping grounds. Maybe he's a cop trying to be under cover but even though dressed in all black from head to toe, he still sticks out like a sore thumb.
ReplyDeleteWierd, just wierd.
I do sympathize with the dead man though, no matter his skin tone.
Do we know yet if it was a drowning, suicide, homicide, natural or accidental death?
ReplyDeleteI saw a segment on Rock Center about a black man trying to avoid "rockfish" syndrome with blacks, because even NBC says blacks can't swim.
ReplyDeletedo we have an update?!
