The armed robbery occurred at the intersection of North Winthrop and West Thorndale Avenues, around 8:50 p.m.
A black female, in the company of seven black males, brandished a knife and stole the victim’s cell phone, wallet, and fireworks, said authorities.
Investigators said the female robber is approximately 14-years-old and her was "crimped".
For those of you who are unfamiliar with crimped hair… Wikipedia describes the hairstyle as "a method of styling usually straight, long hair so that it becomes wavy, often in a sawtooth fashion".
After the robbery, the victim went to Broadway Armory Park, 5917 North Broadway, where she was met by police.
At the time of this report, police were investigating several leads.... including a possible name for one of the male offenders.

ReplyDeleteOk people, let's get this straight. I lifeguarded at Hollywood-Ardmore, which included Thorndale. I was TJO. As such there were no Blacks in our turf. What's with this "African American" crap? Anyone of them born in Africa? I was stabbed by a rival gang at Thorndale beach one night. Everyone gets even. I went to the U. of Illinois in Champaign and received a EE. But, my "other life" was on the streets. Only two of lived.
