Report: Shots fired in Edgewater; gun found in separate shooting?


According to police dispatch, shots were fired in Chicago’s North Side, Edgewater neighborhood.

Around 8:11 p.m., a 911 caller reported gunfire near the intersection of North Kenmore and West Glenlake Avenues.

The gunman was described as a male black in his 20s, approximately 5’10”, wearing dreadlocks.

Citing police communications, the shooter fired two shots from a silver gun.

No injuries or property damage was reported.

As of 8:39 p.m., there were no further updates regarding the alleged shooting.

A few blocks east of the supposed shooting at Kenmore and Glenlake, in what appears to be an unrelated incident, authorities recovered a black pistol on the 1200 block of West Norwood Street.

The exact address given by police was 1222 West Norwood Street.

The weapon was located around 8:12 p.m.
