A newly published YouTube video captures what appears to be drug deals on Chicago's West Side.
The video, dated May 22, 2012, documents a highly suspicious transaction at West Van Buren Street and South Kilbourn Avenue, in the city's West Garfield Park neighborhood.
In the footage, a male black approaches a white SUV and takes money from another male who appears to a white Hispanic.
The two suspects exchange words, shake hands, and within seconds, the alleged drug deal is over.
According to YouTube user Chicago24thWard, 24th Ward Alderman Michael Chandler and the Chicago Police Department have failed to adequately address the so-called "rampant illegal drugs sales" in the area.
I really hope the guy filming these is using abandoned buildings and not his family's home. It seems like he is constantly giving away his location when he films cross streets, and in one clip the television is playing which could give away a time/date. So he better hope they dont find his youtube channel, since drug gangs often take power through ruthlessness...
ReplyDeleteStrange how these videos make the rounds so quickly. Saw it on DSLC a week or so after it was on CNR, and then today its the top post on SCC.
ReplyDeleteAll this publicity isnt going to be a good thing for the film maker...
Nobody has to worry about this man. If, or when he does die, others will fill his shoes. This is the age of information, and the child killing drug dealers will simply be photographed and video recorded from another anonymous citizen that's sick and tired of a city losing their sons and daughters. Get your addiction in check, because nobodies backing down. And we know what death is and looks like, and it looks like the strong willed, with a camera, showing the world what happens when you let go of your inclination to defend your family and your neighborhood. So, who cares if somebody like this dies? Another, good martyr will take his place. And we'll be among them.
