At 2:21 p.m., police received multiple reports of shots fired near Wilson and Broadway, the 1000 block of West Wilson, and at Kenmore and Winthrop.
Seconds later, a responding officer located a male shooting victim on the 4500 block of North Broadway at 4545 North Broadway.
The victim, described as a male Hispanic, was shot in the leg, citing preliminary reports.
The shooters were said to be two male blacks in their teens or early 20s.
According to one eyewitness account, one assailant was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans; the second offender was dressed in a black t-shirt and blue jeans.
Another tipster saw a third male black with a light complexion and dreadlocks fleeing the scene.
As of 2:31 p.m., the shooter, or shooters were still at large
It appears the shooting is gang-related - blacks versus Latinos.
UPDATE: 3:18 p.m. - The patient is at Weiss Memorial Hospital, but he is about to be transferred to Illinois Masonic.
Investigators are sitting on a white Mazda parked on the 1000 block of West Wilson Avenue. Authorities believe the vehicle was involved in the shooting on Broadway.
The car is registered to an address on the 1400 block of North Latrobe.
UPDATE: 3:28 p.m. - The victim was not the intended target and has no known gang affiliations, said police.
Authorities are bracing for a retaliatory shooting... possibly, near Lawrence and Sheridan.
Yeah, a guy I'm dating was just up at Target and said he made a tourniquet for the guy that was hit in the ankle/leg. I asked him to check on a kitchen rack I need and was going to pick it up after work. I'll just order it online or pick it up next time I'm in the Detroit area. Sales tax is cheaper too.

Tell them of the failure of subsidised housing, how the people were supposed to assimilate into the rea but instead they turned it into the area they left. Tell them u want the HUD budget cut so that there is only enough for seniors,vets and people with mental and physical disabilities. This will force the CHA to reduce the number of vouchers and sell their buildings to private companies. The baby mamas who are the beneficiaries of subsidised housing have criminal relatives and boyfriends that target the area and they also live with them.
