Sunday's shooting near Portage Park

Police are investing a shooting near a neighborhood park on Chicago’s Northwest Side.

Shots were fired at the intersection of North Long and West Warner Avenues, near Portage Park, 4100 North Long Avenue, around 6:46 p.m.

Citing preliminary police communications, several shots were fired from a SUV.

According to police dispatch, shots were fired at 2 or 3 victims, but it doesn't appear that any of the victims were actually shot.

Prior to the apparent drive-by shooting, authorities asked several “children” to leave an unspecified area… moments later, the children returned and told police that they were being shot at.

Unconfirmed reports indicated the shooters were apprehended and investigators recovered a revolver.

No further details are available.

  1. Everyone write your reps/ senators/ and the republicans tell them the horrors of subsidised housing. Tell them of the failure of subsidised housing, how the people were supposed to assimilate into the rea but instead they turned it into the area they left. Tell them u want the HUD budget cut so that there is only enough for seniors, vets and people with mental and physical disabilities. This will force the CHA to reduce the number of vouchers and sell their buildings to private companies. The baby mamas who are the beneficiaries of subsidised housing have criminal relatives and boyfriends that target the area and they also live with them.
Section 8 and subsidised housing is funded federally not through the city(for those who didn't know). SO COMPLAINING TO THE CITY IS A WASTE OF TIME.

Everytime there is a budget battle contact them and tell them to cut the HUD BUDGET

  2. That is a very derisive view. I pray you never fall on hard times . The lord will give you the mercy and compassion that you have showed your fellow man. NONE

  3. So they should reward those who bring crime to areas which were extremely safe?

There's a difference between down on your luck, and a mooch off the system. Why should one get a better paying job, when they get enough from the gov't to pay for a really nice place to live?

And don't bring religion into this. How many kids need to be raped for god to step in?
