North Side: Man shot inside taxi cab

A Shooting victim was rushed to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, Illinois, after he was shot while riding in a taxi cab, said police.

The shooting happened Monday night, between 10 and 11 p.m., on Chicago's North Side.

Initial police dispatch reports indicated the victim was shot somewhere near Berwyn or Bryn Mawr... possibly in Edgewater.

However, subsequent police communications suggest the shooting took place farther north on North Ridge Avenue, near a strip mall.

Eyewitnesses reportedly heard shots fired and saw three male blacks fleeing the scene.
