At approximately 4:27 p.m., a vehicular hijacking occurred near the Gage Park, Chicago Lawn neighborhood border, said police.
According to several police dispatch reports, a male victim was pulled from his car at gunpoint on the 2800 block of West 59th Street, near the intersection of West 59th Street and South California Avenue.
The gunmen stole a brown Honda Accord, said police.
The carjacker was described as a male black wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt and blue pants.
Reportedly, after interviewing the victim at 61st Street and California, investigators were told the stolen vehicle was last seen going westbound on West 61st Street, then southbound, presumably, on Mozart.
While officers were investigating the alleged West 59th Street carjacking, a patrol car in West Englewood was flagged down by another victim of a purported vehicular hijacking.
The alleged victim reportedly said she spotted her stolen car, taken in a carjacking on an unspecified date, on the 7100 block of South Halsted street, around 5 p.m.
The stolen vehicle was described as a brown, four-door Malibu with temporary tags.
Police described the alleged carjacker as a male black in his 30s.
Too bad the carjacking victims didn't have the 'avoid the ghetto' app...
ReplyDeleteWhy in the world would a thug carjack someone for a Brown Honda Accord? What an ugly car...
ReplyDeleteYou must understand Da Community to understand why they would want this crappy car. First its not the car well if its a caddy it's gold to them but all they care about is putting the rims on the car
ReplyDelete....or getting a $2,000 mural of their dead baby or relative painted on the hood (along with the $3,000 rims). The car has rust holes in it. I'm serious.
