Seriously. We don’t make this stuff up.
At 9:04 p.m., a citizen reported several males yelling gang slogans near the intersection of North Broadway and West Cuyler Avenue, in Chicago’s Buena Park, Uptown neighborhood.
The 911 caller said in addition to disturbing the peace, the alleged gang members were turning off the street lights.
At 9:07 p.m., a female officer, via her police radio, said two street lights were out on the 800 block of West Cuyler.
Either someone came up with a really creative way of reporting a street light outage, or the goons are showing ComEd and the residents of Uptown, who’s boss.

all u need to do is flash a flashlight at their day/night sensors
ReplyDeleteIt has happened before. They shot out or disabled so many lights in East Humboldt Park that they called the area "The Twilight Zone".
ReplyDeleteCurbed Chicago's neighborhood of the year, two years running.
ReplyDeleteIn my old block, when they started busted the lights out, it meant something was going down. We could see them throwing rocks and balls to break the lights.
ReplyDeleteI don't know why you people put up with this sh*t. Civilians in "other places" would take care of them pronto.
ReplyDeleteDoes someone seriously sit listening to a police scanner all day to post this ridiculous stuff? Go out and help make a difference! Where are the real men?
ReplyDeleteAnon @ 4:31 - they don't have CCW here in liberalismland/happyland. Only criminals are allowed to have guns here. Big difference.
ReplyDelete@ 4:31, "real men"? Haha. There really arent any real men left. Theyre all effeminate, lazy, entitled, skinny jean wearing, left of Karl Marx, art history majors. Oh I left out broke. Thats why women like me have to be the men now.
ReplyDeleteI like the cut of your jib, Maureen. You should buy me a drink.
ReplyDeleteMaureen, I'm with you and I'm gay! Gotta get outta this state.
ReplyDeleteP.S. You can add flight attendant, career cruisologist and unemployed movie star to the list too!
ReplyDeleteCarry a gun anyways, no judge would convict us with all these nignogs jungle running all over our city.
ReplyDelete@ Lefty, funny, maybe I will. Youll have to earn it though.

ReplyDeleteThe editors at CNR are doing something to make a difference. The vast majority of the news printed on here either never makes it to Chicago's "mainstream" media (like this story), or is heavily edited out (see stories like several arrests of little wannabe gangbangers last summer, CNR was willing to pout up the unedited pictures of the perps throwing gang signs, while the Trib, CST & local TV all blurred out the blunts, gang signs, & alcohol bottles).
You may not approve of their methods, but CNR is doing us all a favor by helping spread the word. Or do you think the ostrich effect of "burying your head in the sand & pretending no problems exist" is a better method?
Does no reporting mean that no problems like this are happening? If I lived in that neighborhood, I would darn well want every possible news outlet to be talking about this behavior. Gang members disabling streetlights endangers EVERYBODY in Buena Park.
Not only do they turn off lights, but when it's cold out, they'll actually throw water on the streets to make it icy and dangerous for cops to chase them, (as well as the people who live there drive safely.)
ReplyDeleteI'm not making this up either.
Apparently they watched Home Alone!
