Early Friday morning, a woman was injured during a hit and run in Chicago’s Edgewater neighborhood, said police.
Around 1:44 a.m., a female pedestrian was struck by a car at the 3-way intersection where Broadway, Bryn Mawr, and Ridge converge, said authorities.
The driver, who reportedly fled the scene, was apprehended several blocks north of the apparent accident - near Broadway and Ardmore.
Investigators described the offending vehicle as a 2008 Nissan pickup truck.
The driver was reportedly arrested.
Information regarding the victim's condition wasn't available.

50% chance the pedestrian was at fault and that's just based on what I saw this past weekend by pedestrians at that intersection. No different (actually worse) than the buffoon tourists and Loop residents that have never seen a cross walk signal before either. Just saw one get hit last Friday. Let's see, we're all waiting to cross and he's the only one lying on the ground out there.
ReplyDeleteYeah I always flee the scene of any accident where the other person is at fault--it's just instinct--makes perfect sense.
ReplyDeleteProbably no inshowyance, no drivers license, outstanding warrants, expired tags, 4 addresses, 3 name variations......kinda "instinct" in Chicago, especially there. Get a clue. The pedestrian could have been at fault anyway. If the one I saw last weekend got hit by a car, I'd have no sympathy. Some of you can't even walk down the street straight.
ReplyDeleteIt was probably a stolen car too since it was a 2008 and there are so many people who buy expensive cars and then don't insure them or bother to get a driver's license.
ReplyDeleteIs she fat?
ReplyDeleteIf so, I hope she dies. Fat people are disgusting.
10:47AM: You left out illegal alien & temporary plate.
ReplyDeleteI steer clear of any car with those temp plates. They all drive like maniacs.
I agree with the "temporary" plate statement.
ReplyDeleteThey always seem to do ignorant / unsafe moves in traffic.
99 % sure that they don't have insurance.
Regarding the insuance - at least this isn't a "no-fault" state. I used to live in Michigan and got into an accident when an idiot woman who was typing on her cell phone drove right into an intersection against the light. She's lucky she didn't die in the accident.
ReplyDeleteHowever, because MI is a no fault state, it means that my insurance company viewed the accident as my fault. My repair bill was over $14k, and even though the accident was nearly four years ago, I'm still paying extraordinarily high rates.
Though I suppose if that happened here, and the woman didn't have insurance (or went to the General & got "state minimum" coverage), I would be just as screwed.
