Cops: South Loop pickpocket loses shoe fleeing the scene

A pickpocket in Chicago’s South Loop neighborhood lost one of his shoes while running away from a crime scene, said police.

According to police dispatch, a female Asian’s wallet was stolen at the Whole Foods Market at 1101 South Canal Street, around 3:10 p.m.

The suspect was described as a male black with an Afro.

The thief was last seen wearing an orange jacket, blue jeans, glasses, and one shoe, said police.

Police checked the CTA Red and Green Line Roosevelt stations, but the suspect was nowhere to be found.

It’s unclear if officers checked the Roosevelt Metra station, which is much closer to where the alleged crime occurred.

As of Friday, 3:48 p.m., the one-shoe-bandit was still on the loose.
