2 robbed on University of Chicago campus; woman robbed blocks away

Three people, a woman and two men, were robbed at gunpoint during two separate incidents in Chicago's Hyde Park neighborhood, said police.

According to the University of Chicago Police Department, on Wednesday, January 4, 2012, around 9:15 p.m., a female victim was robbed between the 5200 block of South Drexel Boulevard and the 5200 block of South Ingleside Street.

Three male offenders, one of them armed with a gun, robbed the woman as she was walking along the sidewalk.

Nearly seven hours later and several blocks south, two men were robbed at gunpoint on the University of Chicago campus, said police.

On Thursday, January 5, 2012, at approximately 4:35 a.m., two men, one of them armed with a handgun, robbed two male victims on the 5700 block of South Ellis Avenue, said the UCPD.

The location of the crime is in the heart of the Hyde Park university campus.

At the time of this report, no arrests had been made in either case.
