Attempted suicide in Uptown, man shoots himself, says cops

A male victim attempted suicide in a Chicago, Uptown neighborhood apartment building, said police.

At 7:26 p.m., a self-inflicted gunshot wound was reported at 920 West Lakeside Place, near Lakeside and Sheridan Road.

According to police dispatch, a man shot himself in the head inside apartment 912.

As of 7:39 p.m., it was unclear if the injured man was dead or alive.

However, officers made several requests for crime scene tape and a Russian interpreter.

If more details become available, this article will be updated accordingly.
