Fire reported at Edgewater Tiara condo building


Police and firefighters were called to an Edgewater neighborhood apartment building after a 911 caller reported smoke in the hallway.

Around 8:39 p.m., emergency responders rushed to the Tiara condominium apartments at 6145 North Sheridan Road, located between Sheridan and Granville and Sheridan and Glenlake.

At 8:49 p.m., CTA officials were notified that buses traveling in the area may have to be rerouted to Broadway.

At 8:56 p.m., a female officer at the scene said there was lots of smoke in the building, but no sign of an actual fire.

Fire trucks were starting to leave the scene around 9:03 p.m.

At the time of this report, the cause of the smoke was not immediately available.
