At 2:47 p.m., a strong-arm robbery was reported at the Granville "L" stop at 1119 West Granville Avenue.
A male suspect stole $40 from the victim, said police.
The offender was described as a male black with a light complexion, about 19-years-old, and approximately 5'9".
Citing police dispatch reports, the suspect was wearing a black jacket with black and white gym shoes.
Police, along with the alleged victim, toured the area looking for the suspect, but it's clear if an arrest was made.
Nearly 40 minutes later, a battery was reported at the Berwyn CTA Red Line station at 1121 West Berwyn Avenue.
According to police dispatch, a male offender argued with a CTA employee and battered a janitor who was working at the station.
Preliminary information suggests the incident was related to the alleged offender's attempt to ride the train - possibly without paying his fare.
The suspect was described as a skinny male black with a very light complexion, 20 to 22-years-old, and approximately 6'3".
The assailant was wearing a black hat, a black jacket, and blue jeans with a W on the back pocket.
He was last seen going westbound on Berwyn Avenue, said police.
Had an appointment in that area yesterday and couldn't believe what I saw getting off at that Berwyn stop. Figured they were heading up towards Howard St. or? They weren't all together either. Where were they headed there? I don't mean to "judge", but the clothing, behavior, etc.......it's changed and quickly.

ReplyDeleteI'm "white" and people have told me the clothing colors/tones I sometimes pick are somewhat "black" but these people look like absolute f'in clowns! Never seen anything like it in my life anywhere.
Yes, it's public transportation but you can't help but judge these people on their character (or lack thereof) - not the color of their skin.

What you can do while waiting for the 84 though is stop into Starbucks pick up a cup of coffee, warm up, check the bus tracker (inside - you don't want to be a blamed victim) and then head a block east for the bus (there is a stop closer to Sheridan where NOBODY is waiting and you'll have choice seats). Ignore "Harold" inside Starbucks. He blurts out "I'mma, I'mma gonna kill you!" And then you might discover he's directing that at YOU! I asked him to give me 3 minutes once so I could finish my coffee first. The employees are Seattle/Chicago cool though, they usually tell him it's time to leave (along with his bag of Cheetoh's). Watch out for airborne "diversity" cabs when exiting. They're known to break glass.

Like me, you were duped into thinking this was 'diversity' heaven near what could be a lovely lakefront but was just trying to get to work, or back home safely (without a tattoo up the side of your neck, a nose ring or cracked out).
I witnessed my first murder ever outside of a TV screen in Chicago. The Berwyn stop is another chapter.

I just avoid shopping at the Petersen Target that is the reason I would use that bus route, since it's a miserable experience for many reasons.
ReplyDeleteWithout revealing my identity, I am intimately familiar with many of Chicago's mentally ill population and the massive army of their enablers. Most of them are drug addicted and hard wired to panhandle and expect handouts, etc. The area of Clark/Diversey/Broadway is infested with ones from the drop-in center that one social service agency runs. Have you ever see the black asshole who wears a cheap winter hat 12 months a year? This is not fucking Fat Albert.
I gave him a baseball hat and he never wore it again. Whenever I see him I yell for him to fuck himself since he thinks I'm going to give him some change. White people don't carry cash unless we're going to the strip club!
A few of them are genuinely in need of help, but the vast majority of them do not and will not ever contribute a single ounce of anything useful or beneficial to society, I mean, not even brightening somebody's day. I would feel good temporarily about even ones of these pieces of shit if they stooped over and picked up a piece of garbage and put it in the trash, but they don't even do that.
