Victim tosses cell phone during armed robbery in Lakeview
When a gunman demanded money and a cell phone from a victim in Lakeview, the victim handed over the cash and threw the cell phone to distract to the robber, said police.
At 1:24 a.m., a victim was robbed at gunpoint on the 1100 block of West Roscoe Street, near Roscoe and Seminary.
The offender was described as a male black, approximately 6-feet-tall, with a dark complexion.
The suspect was wearing a black or brown puffy coat with a knitted hat.

So then what happened? Did the victim take off running when the perp went to find the phone? Or did the robber just leave, instead of sticking around to look for it??
ReplyDeleteWhat a brilliant deterrent to avoiding possible bodily injury. Plus, if the victim had a great arm, the perp might not find the item and it would be easier to shut it off BEFORE all your personel info is noted and maybe used. Just brilliant! Good for this victim for thinking fast on his feet. A lesson for us ALL to learn:)
ReplyDeleteWhat's with the new style of street signs?
ReplyDeleteDose street signs be rayciss because they white!
ReplyDeleteright and the person who robbed him was black....does that make a difference? btw...im the guy who was robbed.
ReplyDeleteSo, "guy who was robbed," why did you toss the phone?
ReplyDeleteWas it to give you the chance to take off when the robber looked for it, was it so he would just leave & you could recover your phone, or another reason? Also, did the thief just take off, threaten you, look for it, etc?
BTW I'm serious in asking, not on here to be an ass.
Makes no sense. They still got $60 off of him.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, it appears the victim tossed the cell phone in order to make a getaway.
ReplyDeleteThe victim wasn't able to tell the cops which way the offender fled, because after the cell phone was tossed, the victim ran away.
I hope this additional information helps.
