Roscoe Village: Woman and baby hide during burglary
A terrified woman locked herself and an infant child in a bathroom after a man broke into their North Side, Roscoe Village neighborhood home, said police.
Around 2:55 a.m., a burglary was reported on the 2100 block of West School Street, near School and Hamilton Avenue.
A female occupant in the home reportedly told 911 that an unknown male was standing in her kitchen.
When police arrived, they found an open window on the side of the house, but the intruder was no longer on the scene.
The burglar was simply described as a man in hooded sweatshirt.
Officers toured the area, but as of 3:52 a.m., there was no indication an arrest was made.

While "normal" people are sleeping, supposedly safely, in their homes because they get up and go to work in the morning, ghetto thugs start their "jobs" late at night. The "what's yours is mine" mentality is alive and well in this city. ALL homeowners should have a dog and ALL apartment building owners should allow dogs in this day and age. Thank goodness this mom heard this and hid because we all know they would just as soon kill you and never look back.
ReplyDeleteHow does she know it was a man, if the subject was hooded, enough to preclude any further observation. She may have well said there was a hooded sweatshirt in her kitchen.
ReplyDeleteWho cares if it was a man or a woman? Someone was in her house that should not have been there. Way to lose sight of the point of the article. People be careful out there, it's not safe anywhere. Lock your windows up!
ReplyDeleteMore importantly get yourself armed note in IL we are expected to retreat before we defend ourselves and after awhile hopefully the conditions are met and then we can defend ourselves
