Saturday, around 2:28 a.m., police stopped a vehicle at the intersection of Sheridan Road and Morse Avenue in Chicago’s Rogers Park neighborhood.
Three male suspects bolted from the car and fled the scene, said authorities.
Officers quickly apprehended one of the three suspects.
Police chased a second offender who was wearing a beige hooded sweatshirt, eastbound on Morse, then southbound through an alley behind Leona’s Restaurant at 6935 North Sheridan Road.
While canvassing the alley, officers located the suspect’s discarded sweatshirt, but the offender was nowhere to be found.
A third offender, who also managed to escape police, was described as a male Hispanic with long braids, wearing all dark clothing.
At approximately 2:36 a.m., a citizen on the 1200 block of West Lunt Avenue reported a suspicious man running westbound through a south alley near Lunt.
According to police dispatch, prior to fleeing the scene, the suspicious man tried to enter the 911-caller’s apartment.
The suspect was described as a male Hispanic with long braids, dressed in all black clothing.
Authorities ran the license plate on the abandoned vehicle. The car is registered to an address on the 7300 block of North Sheridan Road.
