At approximately 7:57 p.m., a third party caller reported an attempted robbery at a downtown, CTA Red Line subway station.
The 911-caller said five male blacks snatched a commuter’s cell phone at the Monroe “L” stop.
The victim retrieved his property and left the scene, said the tipster.
One offender was described as 5’10”, wearing a burgundy shirt and burgundy Adidas shoes.
At 7:59 p.m., police stopped four black male subjects on the 1100 block of South State Street, near Roosevelt and State.
According to an officer at the scene, one of the subjects was wearing a burgundy shirt and burgundy Adidas shoes.
It’s unclear if any arrests were made, because police were unable to speak with the victim.

I just figured out why I don't like the local news:
ReplyDeleteIn addition to excess sports coverage, every other story features a tearful elderly black female because "they kid got shawt" or some other scary looking people organizing another useless anti-violence march.
Guess what black people? You've had over 150 years to get your act together.
Other cultures have had it much harder for much longer, look at the Jews, never do you see Jews opening fire on Germans riding the El or flashmobbing middle eastern neighborhoods and businesses,wrecking their *hit.
