North Side pickpocket escapes in luxury car


A thief fled the scene in a luxury vehicle after picking a victim’s pocket in Lakeview, said police.

Authorities said the theft occurred at approximately 4:20 a.m. near the 3200 block of North Clark Street, near Clark and Belmont.

The pickpocket is a male black in his 20s with a medium-to-dark complexion.

The criminal was wearing a blue and green baseball cap, a black jacket, and jeans.

The offender fled the scene westbound on Belmont Avenue in a black Infiniti.

  1. Infiniti's are luxury cars but knowing Chicago, this one WAS a luxury car......back in 1992.

  2. Sounds like the description of one the pan-handlers I saw jump into a similar vehicle over on Cicero Ave. when I was leaving Midway. Wouldn't surprise me...
