Starting around 3:24 a.m., shootings were reported at Windsor and Hazel, and at Wilson and Broadway.
After speaking with the gunman's alleged target, investigators said the shots were actually fired on 4500 block of North Sheridan Road, near Sheridan and Windsor.
The shooter was described as a young male black wearing a white hooded sweatshirt.
The alleged gunman was in the company of a second male black and a female black.
All three suspects ran eastbound from the 4500 block on North Sheridan Road.
At 3:28 a.m., a citizen on the 900 block of West Sunnyside said a female black appeared to be hiding on the side of her condo building.
A subsequent 911 call from the same caller, indicated the female black followed the caller to a nearby parking lot, where the female black allegedly told the caller someone had been shot.
As of 4 a.m., there was no indication anyone had been struck by gunfire.
I wonder if anybody is still buying condos in Uptown? Or are the owners there presently trying to sell but can't due to the market and the general lack of interest in moving into an area with too much urban squalor? The presence of section eight buildings in an area really has a very detrimental effect, and that's putting it politely.

Many don't want to sell or break a lease because they're too "cool", hate "coats and ties" (as they call a well dressed man) but will complain daily about guns/shootings/crime/break-ins/stabbings, dirty restaurants/drugs........... and think it's still "turning around" - after 50 years. Cool. Way too cool for me.

Uptown is Hell because of decades of unchecked liberalism and well-intentioned social service organizations. The more we spend to house jobless losers, the more the jobless losers multiply. I am always shocked to hear that people get away with dropping out of grade school here in Chicago.

I knew one young community activist with natural triple D boobs, it's too bad she's a white-guilt self-loathing white social worker though.
When people always said it's turning around, I always responded with "well, it has alot more spinning to do". Looks like the worst part of Detroit to me. I've been to both places. The gay condo "owners" were trying to get out in 2006. Some I know were successful.

For all of you transplants, douche bags, suburbanites, out of towners, and out of staters, Uptown was WAY worse in the 80s and 90s and people of all races have always been part of Uptown. Know your history, don't just move to the city and post your opinions on the internet like you have the slightest clue about a neighborhood, you sound foolish.
