Boystown robbery on Newport Ave.
Saturday, around 1:19 a.m., a victim was robbed in Chicago’s Boystown, Lakeview community on the city's North Side, said police.
Authorities said the robbery occurred near the 3400 block of North Halsted Street, near Halsted and Newport.
The initial 911 call indicated the offender hit someone’s vehicle, stole a cell phone, then fled the scene in a car going the wrong way down an unidentified street.
After speaking with the robbery victim, police determined the suspect was driving a silver or gray Chevy Malibu with the partial license plate P 6 4.
The thief is male black in his 20s and was last seen wearing a blue stocking cap on his head.
