Edgewater: Granville CTA "L" stop robbery

Early Monday morning, around 12:35 a.m., a woman was robbed on a North Side Chicago CTA train, said police.

Authorities said the strong-arm robbery occurred when the train pulled into the Granville “L” stop at 1119 West Granville Avenue.

According to investigators, a black male offender forcibly took a female passenger's cell phone.

The offender fled the scene eastbound on Granville.

He is 5’9” to 6-feet-tall and was last seen wearing a brown jacket.

It's unclear if the robbery victim was injured.

  1. Ah, the ghetto express brings it again. Don't cha just love "integration". These crimes have NOTHING to do with the economy or being hungry or wanting to feed children, these crimes are committed by drug dealers and ghetto thugs, plain & simple. They are bad seeds, parasites and a virus on humanity. They lack morals, humanity, knowledge of right from wrong and proper parenting. They do not belong living amongst innocent contributing people. These are the people who should be segregated away from society...preferably in a prison somewhere!

  2. I happen to know the victim, she was injured, and the Chicago police should have known it as well. She was taken to the hospItal via ambulance with a broken wrist and dislocated shoulder that required surgery on Wednesday. I hope all the new security cameras on the platform at Granville help catch this scumbag.
