Armed robbery in Andersonville neighborhood


A man was robbed at gunpoint in Chicago’s Andersonville neighborhood on the city’s North Side, police.

The armed robbery occurred Sunday, around 12:26 a.m., on the 5400 block on North Wolcott Avenue, near Wolcott and Balmoral Avenues, said police.

Investigators said the robber displayed a small revolver, stole several hundred dollars, and took the victim’s cell phone out of his pocket.

The offender is a male black, approximately 25-years-old, 5’10”, and 175 pounds.

The thief was wearing baggy jeans and a hooded sweatshirt.

As of 1:37 a.m., there was no indication an arrest was made.

  1. These ghetto thugs sleep all day and rob all night. It's their job. I wonder if this would have happened if we had cancel carry? The thug wouldn't have a clue IF the person they were about to rob had a gun or not. Might make them think twice. As it is now, we don't stand a chance with the criminal mentality in this city.
