2 men, drag queen attack man on Wellington Ave.


A man was attacked in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood early Sunday morning, said police.

Investigators said the North Side assault occurred around 12:30 a.m. on the 600 block of West Wellington Avenue, near Wellington and Waterloo Court.

The suspects hit the man in the face with a football or a basketball, and twisted his arm behind his back, said authorities.

The motive for the attack isn’t clear.

All three suspects were described as black men.

One of the men was dressed like a woman, said the victim.

The male suspects, who were dressed in men’s clothing, were last seen wearing dark red or maroon colored shirts.

The male offender who was dressed like a woman, was last seen wearing a white shirt.

After the assault, the assailants headed northbound on Clark Street from Wellington Avenue.
