VIDEO: Alleged "police harassment" in Rogers Park, caught on tape

Friday, September 16, 2011, between the hours of 10 a.m. and 12 noon, detectives stopped two African American men on the 7500 block of North Damen Avenue, near Damen and Birchwood.

One of the men claimed the detectives were harassing them, because they are black.

"You talk to a black person any kinda way. I got two jobs. Walking down the street with legal chips... I got legal identification... why you ain't jackin' no white people up for eating nachos? You can't be black and eat nachos, around here?!," asked one of the detainees.

According to the person who shot the video, police were called to the North Side, Rogers Park neighborhood intersection, because a 911 caller said drugs were being sold in the area.

  1. I don't see where the police are harassing these 2 blacks? They seem to be fairly respectful. Why are black males always so angry?

  3. Here'san idea. Why don't these people take video of crimes happening, or drug deals going down? They seem to know how to use those high tech phones to record what the police are doing to them. How about what the criminals are doing to innocent people? Oh wait, they can't sue the criminals. Try getting pissed off at your "bro's" for all the crimes they're committing that are causing this profiling.
IF a 911 call came in about drug dealing going on where they were, well, I guess they were in the wrong place at the wrong time. The cops were just doing their job. Get over it and take that pent up angry attitude and get your "bro's" in line! "Stop whining!"

Maybe if mush-mouth learned to speak English properly, he wouldn't need TWO JOBS and he could afford better clothes!

  6. These blacks in the video seem to be up to no good & look dangerous. I think CPD does a good job trying to deal with the urban predators.

  7. I live in Rogers Park, and I am glad to see the cops DOING their job. I am sorry if blacks get offended because they are pulled over. Too bad! My spouse was mug in this area by 6 black kids so I don't give a damn about the sensivities of black people. If most crimes are committed by blacks, then they need to be followed. My safety and the safety of my neighbors is more important than Political Correctness. Thank you Chicago Police Department.

  8. Anonymous@10:18,
I agree with you. Once you are a victim, your whole attitude changes and "PC" gets thrown out the door...as it should be anyway.

    Anonymous@6:55,
I agree with you as well. These ghetto thugs RUIN it for all black people which, unfortunately, affects the good, contributing, law-abiding blacks. The same holds true for ANY ethnicity.

  11. I live on that block as well, and the area is RIFE with suspicious loitering, drug dealing, gang banging, etc. If you loiter excessively in an area like that---white, black or red--be prepared to be questioned.
