Random police calls: 08/19/2011 (North Side)

The following police calls were made August 19, 2011. The accuracy of these reports have not been verified; they are merely a log of the complainants made with the Chicago Police Department.

2:35 a.m. - A victim was reportedly robbed outside 839 West Sheridan Road, near Sheridan and Fremont street.

According to police dispatch, the victim was choked during the robbery.

Police said a wallet and a cellphone were taken from the victim.

The offender was described as a black man in his mid-forties with salt and pepper hair.

The suspect is known to frequent the area of Halsted and Aldine, said police.

4:04 a.m. - A theft was reported at the CVS Pharmacy at 3101 North Clark Street. A shoplifter, described as a white man wearing glasses and jeans, stole items from the store, said a store employee.

4:23 a.m. - Police were called to Little Jim's at 3501 North Halsted Street. A purportedly intoxicated male patron was allegedly causing a disturbance.

9:27 a.m. - Merchandise was stolen from the Walgreens at 5625 North Ridge Avenue, said police.

The shoplifter was described as a 240 pound black man wearing a number 6 Bears Jay Cutler Jersey and a floppy white hat.

The suspect was last seen running northbound from the Edgewater neighborhood Walgreens.

10:01 a.m. - A woman's necklace was snatched on the 5300 block of North California Avenue, near California and Summerdale, said authorities.

The chain snatcher is a black male and approximately 5'2", said police. 

He was last seen wearing a black and white shirt and black shorts.

After the incident, the suspect fled eastbound on Summerdale.
