The crime occurred on the 1000 block of West Belmont Avenue, near Belmont and Kenmore, said authorities.
A black male suspect hit the woman in the head with an unknown object, stole her purse, and a small amount of cash, said police.
An officer at the scene said the victim didn’t see her attacker’s weapon.
However, according to police dispatch, an eyewitness told investigators the mugger struck the woman with a black gun.
The robbery suspect is 5-foot-10 to 6-foot-3 and in his early to mid-twenties. His hair was styled in dreadlocks.
The suspect was last seen running northbound on Kenmore Avenue.

Ok, so it seems like this guy with dreadlocks has been terrorizing the neighborhood. Every other story is about a guy with dreadlocks. Is it the same guy or is there a whole bunch of trash out there with dreadlocks causing these crimes? Note to self: If you see a guy with dreadlocks, be very cautious.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking the same thing. I'm guessing it's same piece of garbage committing multiple crimes. I wonder how dread-head would feel if someone whacked his mother across her empty dome!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure his mother is very proud of him...NOT!
ReplyDeleteThe guy who has been doing the break-ins around central Lakeview has also been described as having dreads. Are they really that common?
ReplyDeletePeople need to be more vigilant around their neighborhoods. It is very easy to distinguish between a decent black person and a thug. VERY Easy, but it's seems like north siders are so politically correct that they are afraid of calling the law on a black person that looks suspect. If a black person is walking around the neighborhood, check them out make sure they are not thugs. If they are do not hesitate and call the police, if you need a reason tell the police you say them casing people to rob, tat always brings them out quickly.
