On Saturday, July 2, 2011, two Chicago police cars were filmed chasing a male suspect on a motorbike.

For reasons unknown, the officers were pursuing a "14-year-old boy and an 8-year-old boy" through a South Side, Chicago park.

According to the person who uploaded the video to YouTube, the cops nearly hit their family members.

"The police raced through my family with no lights or sirens," said the owner of the YouTube video.

According to the video's narrative, the boys on the motorbike eventually crashed into a car.

No further details are available.

  1. One of the dumbest things I've seen the police do! Don't get why these spectators find this funny OR why those "children" didn't stop. That seems to be part of the problem with kids now days..they don't know what STOP means! All you have to do is STOP!

  2. To the crowd:

Instead of getting your cameras ready, why not get your kids away from the approaching chase?

  3. I dont get why people don't get out of the way either. Lights or not, car chases are obvious. People need to stop making the cops life harder.

  4. The no lights & siren don't make a lot of sense to me, but what makes less sense is the people running over to get a better view, and letting little kids run loose through there. If I was in this park, you better believe the first thing I'd be doing is securing my children, NOT trying to get the best vantage point.

Has anybody been able to learn yet what caused this pursuit? Or where it started (presumably on a city street)?

I paused this at 0:49, the image of the older boy driving this is almost surreal, with the little boy riding in front of him. And for a 14 y/o boy, he looks pretty well put together, too.
