Uptown: Teen shot at Montrose Harbor


Police are investigating a 10 p.m. shooting at Uptown’s Montrose Harbor.

According to police dispatch, the shooting occurred in the vicinity of 150 West Montrose Drive, near the Montrose Harbor Bait Shop.

Investigators found a shell casing on North Simonds Drive.

An 18-year-old boy was shot in the left leg, inches below the knee, said police.

An officer at the scene said the gunshot victim was in stable condition.

The shooters were described as two Hispanic men driving a 2004 black four-door Honda Civic.

Authorities said the license plate starts with the letter K.

  1. Doesn't Chicago have a gun ban law? I'll bet this lil wannabe thug drove all the way to Detroit in a ZipCar to get one. That's what happened. That's where he got it!

  2. i think I saw this car parked at the end of north avenue, this morning around 7:45 am, in the turn-around / dead end @ the underpass to the beach. He was parked and a police officer asked him to leave (no parking). Black 4-door honda, 2004, with a hispanic behind the wheel.
