President Obama assassinated in Iowa: Fox News' Twitter account hacked



Around 2 a.m. Monday morning, hackers gained access to the Fox News Politics Twitter account, said several news reports.

The hackers reportedly tweeted messages saying President Barack Obama had been shot and killed during an assassination in Iowa.

One tweet said, "@BarackObama assassinated, 2 gunshot wounds have proved too much. It's a sad 4th for #america. #obamadead RIP."

Fox News executives apologized for the tweets.

The incident is being investigated.
