Woman injured in West Rogers Park police car chase
Around 1:07 a.m., police attempted a traffic stop in Chicago’s West Ridge/West Rogers Park neighborhood.
An officer tried to stop a Jeep Liberty on the 2600 block of West Devon Avenue, near Devon and Rockwell, when the vehicle sped away, said police.
After a brief police car chase, the vehicle came to a stop in an alley behind 2711 West Devon Avenue, at 1:09 a.m.
Within seconds, an ambulance was called to scene.
A female occupant, who may have been driving the Jeep Liberty, “fell out”, said an officer at the scene.
It isn’t clear if the officer meant the woman was unconscious or was thrown from the vehicle.
The injured female, whom police later described as a prisoner, was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, Illinois, for treatment.
There was no indication any officers were injured during the chase.
