Wisconsin votes to legalize conceal carry; Illinois residents remain unprotected

In almost every state bordering Illinois, residents have  the right to carry concealed weapons.

Iowa, Missouri, Kentucky, and Indiana have already granted their citizens the right to protect themselves. Soon, Wisconsin will be added to that list.

From the Chicago Tribune:

"The Wisconsin Senate passed a bill Tuesday that would allow concealed weapons in the state Capitol and other public places, but not in police stations, courthouses and other specifically exempted locations.

The final vote was 25-8, with all 19 Republicans and six Democrats supporting it, and the other eight Democrats opposed.

Wisconsin would become the 49th state to legalize carrying hidden guns. Those who want to carry the weapons would have to obtain a permit."

If the law passes in Wisconsin, Illinois will be the only state that denies its citizens their constitutional right to keep and bear arms.

While Rahm Emanuel, who lobbied against Illinois’s conceal carry bill is protected by guns, the unarmed taxpayers who pay for his bullets, will simply have to fend for themselves.

Somehow, that just doesn't seem fair.

  1. It is a Constitutional right of all Americans to be able to defend ourselves. How can we do that if we can't even carry a weapon?

Repeal the concealed carry ban so that we have a fighting chance.

  2. Join the club Illinois. It's time to STOP interpreting the Constitution to fit the states agenda. Give us the ability to defend ourselves. Watch how the crime turns around because ghetto thugs will think twice about attacking someone IF they thought they might be carrying a weapon that can be used on them. Basically these ghetto thugs are COWARDS who mostly prey on women, children, disabled and elderly. Now, they use weapons on us...that are ILLEGAL...what's wrong with this picture?

  3. Being unarmed and saying that you will just call the police if something happens is like going on a boat without a life jacket and saying that you will just call the Coast Guard if something happens.

  4. The Truth, that was a great analogy! I am going to have to remember that one.

  5. I would urge you guys to join any or all of the following organizations:

    Illinois Rifle Association
    2nd Amendment Foundation
    NRA

These three organizations currently have 2 lawsuits against the state of Illinois because they refuse to acknowledge our individual 2nd amendment rights. Additionally they were instrumental in getting Chicago and other cities to lift their gun ban.

Lastly, the IL General Assembly voted last month against a conceal carry bill. Illinois Carry has the breakdown of yes/no votes. As you know, chicago and chicago suburban reps voted no. With the redistricting, the chicago democratic machine is consolidating even more of their power by having districts start in the city and extend to the burbs.

This will go to the supreme court - no doubt.

Where is your outrage over the shooting in Hyde Park? A beautiful young girl was shot in the head by black thugs. Where is your cry for justice? Is your ire reserved for whites only?

  8. i'm not talking about hyde park, i'm talking about all those crazy white kids who go into these schools killing everything and when the story comes out, you discover that parents, like you, taught your children how to shoot and kill animals when they were three years old and the bastards then kills his parents. My cry for justice is go after the gun makers and the ones that are bringing these military weapons into the city and dumping them into the black communities.

  10. Anonymous has been listening to too many speeches by Furious Styles in Boys in the Hood.

Exactly how do gun makers "dump their guns into the black communities"? You mean to tell me that they take some of the guns that they could sell and make money from and distribute them for free in black communities?

How does this make sense, and more importantly- where is the proof? Just because someone uses a weapon in Englewood, for example, it does not mean that a gun manufacturer dumped it there. Maybe the shooter stole it to use in a gang war. Maybe they stole it from someone's house using the list of addresses of gun owners provided by the state of Illinois.

As for the "crazy white kids"... who is killing the 25-30 CPS students who die every year here?
Hint: It's not the crazy white kids.
