Second woman pepper sprayed in Lakeview, robbed


A second woman was attacked by thieves overnight in Lakeview, said police.

At 3:15 a.m., a citizen reported someone screaming for help on the 700 block of West Aldine Avenue in Lakeview.

An eyewitness saw a black man chasing a woman down the street.

When police arrived, they found the female victim, who had been blinded with a chemical agent, at 714 West Aldine.

Police said the offender sprayed the woman in the face with mace or pepper spray, and stole her purse and her cell phone.

The thief's hair was styled in an Afro. He also had facial hair, possibly a goatee. He was last seen wearing a bluish-green polo shirt with buttons on the front and jeans.

Authorities said the male suspect may have been in company of a black cross dresser or transsexual.

The victim believes her attackers followed her from the Subway sandwich restaurant at 901 West Belmont Avenue.

No arrests have been made.

Police are investigating.

    Aldine/School seems to be a popular place for criminals to pounce on their victims. About a month ago, someone I knew was robbed by two guys at 900 W School around 6-7am. His cell phone and cash were taken. They followed him from Halsted and Aldine until nobody else was around. I've also seen a report of a woman having her iPhone stolen in that same area, and I'm sure there are a bunch of other crimes in that area I'm not even aware of. Be careful at off hours on Aldine/School.

    Start of the summer crime wave. I guess people have to walk around in total paranoia due to the predators roaming around the city looking for prey.
    Ruining other people's lives is the stock-in-trade of these mostly black criminals in this city. What a mentality this mass of creeps have, smashing other people for fun and a payday.

    And they want to extend the redline further south which than makes it easier for the ghetto thugs from Altgeld Gardens to get up north and prey on us as well. Use to be, ghetto thugs lived by the highways/expressways for an easy get away, now it's the redline.

    ALL the alderman better start stepping to the plate and demanding the city hire more cops..about 3000 would do it..or call in the national guard for a couple months. If they can protect us in Iraq & Afganistan, they can protect us from these urban terrorists here.

    Tom Tunney seems to be looking the other way because Lakeview/Boystown is a mess. Nice job Tommy!

    Seems like they did their homework, blind them with pepper spray then rob,. I hope someone catches these drag queen bandits before more people get hurt

    There's a contingent that believes that the Center on Halsted is attracting Southside criminals to the neighborhood, just google "Center on Halsted gang" and see articles that are straining to avoid racism because it's black criminals that are committing these crimes. There are so many areas of the city I avoid now because crap like this.

    Eman, I've got a nice, nice HARDwood club from Detroit Tigers "bat day" circa 1975. Fits real nice right in my briefcase. My co-worker from the "west side" asked where I got it and wanted to buy it from me. No way!

    I dare one of these "boystown" bars to host a GWM night. Dare them. They're selling out, cashing in for the short-term and it's not going to last. Yall'z got a ghetto in the makings here.

    C.P. I've heard that very same thing about the Center on Halsted. Nothing like a bunch of uneducated, mannerless, disrespectful ghetto thugs ruinung it for EVERYONE EVERY WHERE!. They probably read this blog and it's comments and laugh their asses off rather than learn anything from the comments.

    P.S. Wish I could have snapped a picture of the bartender that stepped back, crossed his arms and gave a one word answer to my question "what's the problem around here"?

    Imagine moving to "diversityville" and being called "faggot" or "whitey" cuz you won't open up your wallet on command for these CHA's that have been dispersed throughout liberalismland.
