Rogers Park: Man attacked on Loyola Avenue


At 4 a.m., a citizen reported screams coming from a North Side street.

The caller said someone was being assaulted in an alley on the 1300 block of West Loyola Avenue, near Loyola and Glenwood, in Rogers Park.

Moments later, a second 911 caller stated a man was yelling and screaming on the 6500 block of North Glenwood, as several black suspects, male and female, ran eastbound towards Lakewood Avenue.

According to an eyewitness, one offender was wearing a black tank top and another suspect was wearing a black baseball cap and a black t-shirt.

At 4:06 a.m., police located the battery victim at 1245 West Loyola Avenue.

An ambulance was called to the scene.

The victim’s condition, as well as the motive for the attack, are unknown.
