Random police calls: 06/04/2011

8:04 p.m. - Police were looking for a possibly suicidal woman near Ridge and Chase, on Chicago's North Side. The woman reportedly took some pills and went to a nearby park to "go to sleep". It's unclear if police made contact with the woman.

8:09 p.m. - EMS workers on Chicago's South Side reported a shirtless black man carrying a rifle. The emergency responders said the suspect ran into an apartment building at 218 East 69th Place. No further details are available.

8:23 p.m. - Neighbors reported a naked man yelling from a third floor balcony at 6401 West Berteau Avenue.

8:50 p.m. - A battery was reported at Halsted and Waveland. According to police dispatch, there was a fight at the Center on Halsted, 3656 North Halsted Street. Police were on the scene at 8:52 p.m. No further details are available.

9:01 p.m. - A CTA passenger was robbed on the Green Line at the Laramie station, 5148 West Lake Street. The passenger was sitting on the train when a black man snatched their cell phone, said police. The crook is 5'11" and approximately 23-years-old. He was last seen wearing a blue shirt and black pants.

10:32 p.m. - Furama Restaurant, at 4936 North Broadway Street in Uptown, said a homeless man was harassing their customers.

10:35 p.m. - A man on the 1600 block of West Jonquil Terrace said a group of gangbangers in a gray two-door Chevy minivan, purposely tried to run him over. The man gave police a partial license plate of D82. The complainant said one of the van's windows was held together with tape.

10:54 p.m. - Residents on the 5900 block of North Sheridan Road reported a disturbance at a nearby play lot at Sheridan and Thorndale. The complainants said six to eight male blacks were making too much noise.

11:43 p.m. - Police were investigating an alleged burglary at 549 West Aldine Avenue. No further details are available.
