Man robbed in Rogers Park, another in West Ridge

Around 2:27 a.m., a concerned citizen called police after spotting an injured man on the street.

According to the 911 caller, the battered man was trying to make his way into a Rogers Park apartment building on the 1200 block of West North Shore Avenue.

Police determined the victim lives at the North Shore address.

Authorities described the victim as a male Hispanic in his thirties, who sustained multiple head wounds.

The mugger, a 25 to 30-year-old black man, stole the victim's wallet containing a Mexican ID, said police.

Investigators said the victim was beaten and robbed near the intersection of North Shore and Lakewood.

In an adjacent neighborhood, a man was robbed in West Ridge, around 4:23 a.m., said police.

The robbery occurred near a CTA bus stop on the 2800 block of West Estes, near Estes and California Avenues, said officials.

The offender was described as a 6-foot-tall male white or male Hispanic wearing dark-colored clothing.

Police said the thief stole the victim's wallet.

The suspect in the Rogers Park robbery and the suspect in West Ridge robbery, are still at large.
