I live across the street from where the accident took place and it was an ugly scene. The crash was so loud it woke me & several neighbors up. The car knocked down the street light and crashed into a PLS Store. The car was smoking and none of the passengers were able to get out of the car on their own. I hope & pray everyone is alright.
ReplyDeleteBased on what I have been hearing, everyone involved in the crash was seriously injured. According to one source, one of the victims might not survive. But we can all hope and pray that everyone pulls through.
ReplyDelete2 of the people in the crash have died.
ReplyDelete"Two people were killed and four more seriously injured when two vehicles crashed into a PLS Check Cashiers store in the Belmont Gardens neighborhood on the Northwest Side this morning.
The two deceased were a man and woman, both 57, who had been sent to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center. The female was pronounced dead at 6:08 a.m.; the man was pronounced dead at 6:17 a.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.
Officials said that the two were part of a cleaning crew that had been working Downtown and were heading back to their homes."
Chicago Breaking News
After talking to one of my neighbors, it sounds like it was gang related. He was at the scene as soon as he heard the crash & apparently the black Honda was trying to escape gunfire from a 3rd car that was not involved in the actual crash. I really hope the police are able to figure this whole mess out especially now that 2 innocent people have lost their lives. My thoughts & prayers go out to their family & friends.
ReplyDeleteVery sad! My condolences to the family of the victims. If this was gang related (as mention by a fellow commenter), then the Northwest Side has been trying to make their mark in the news lately. Smh...
ReplyDeleteWhen I heard that people coming home from work were killed, it broke my heart. Innocent people simply going about their lives shouldn't be struck down like this. Very tragic.
ReplyDeleteVery tragic. Bless their families and if this was gang related, they need to get life, since they took two.
ReplyDeleteSadly, I'm getting a little desensitized to some of this violence, but this story made me cry.
