Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred in front of Chicago’s Union Station.
The incident happened around 7:55 p.m. at 210 South Canal Street, near Canal and Adams.
Details are sketchy, but based on police dispatch reports, several male blacks, possibly two or three offenders, robbed a man at gunpoint.
One of the suspects was described as approximately 5’8” with a dark complexion.
Police said one of the thieves displayed a small shiny handgun and stole $89 from their victim.
The crooks were last seen westbound on Adams Street.

Wasn't there a person with a gun around Union station a few weeks ago? Better start hiring far more security guards than they already have there. Actually, we better either put at least 2000 police on the streets or bring in the National Guard to shut down these ghetto thugs. I have NEVER seen so much crime in this city in my life here. These young fatherless punks who probably have absentee mothers are the urban terrorists of the city and will create a new Detroit IF we do not shut them down!
ReplyDeleteGreat memory, Towanda! Yes there was.
ReplyDeleteOn April 4, 2011, someone reported seeing a man stuff a gun into a bag and hop aboard a bus at Union Station:

I concur Towanda. I understand that the city is undergoing some serious financial woes, but the heightening criminal activity in this city is ridiculous. This city needs THOUSANDS more police officers and harsher penalties for these ghetto thugs who are a complete embarrassment and waste of life. They are the same people that complain that society has treated them unfairly yet they themselves have no ambition to lead more productive lives. These thugs are just purely ungrateful cowards who make the same stupid and redundant decisions...while punishing innocent and hardworking individuals. If the city can't afford to hire more officers, they should at least have street cameras all over the downtown area so these attacks could be videotaped....so we're not wandering around trying to identify suspects. I'm seeing more cops on bicycles, but I don't know how effective that will be. I worry that once it gets warmer, more people will be victimized. Cops worry that Rahm intends to bust their unions...but I believe that more funding should go towards police, firemen, and their equipment. They are city workers who save lives....unlike some of the the indignant employees that scurry at the water department or city clerk's office.
