Lincoln Park: Police chase men attempting to break into vehicle

An alert citizen in Chicago’s North Side Lincoln Park neighborhood, thwarted the plans of two suspected thieves.

Around 2:30 a.m., a 911 caller on the 500 block of West Deming Place, spotted two men trying to break into a gray two-door car. The witness said the suspects appeared to be white men, and were driving a forest-green SUV.

At 2:33 a.m., Chicago police officers chased both offenders on foot, as the suspects fled in two different directions -- one running southbound and the other running westbound.

Both offenders got away.

The 911 caller who initially contacted police, told authorities the men doubled back, got into the forest-green SUV, and fled the scene northbound through a west alley near 525 West Deming Place.

If you have any information regarding this incident, please contact the police.

  2. "witness said the suspects appeared to be white men"....could have been lighter colored black ghetto thugs but either way, these two are pure and simple ghetto thugs.

I'd be curious to know just how MANY of these ghetto thugs are actually caught? Seems they ALL get away only to rise another day and do it all over again!

  3. These white people are destroying our community. :P

On another note, when I first saw the picture in tiny thumbnail form, I thought it was a little hot dog on a grill!
