The armed robbery occurred around 4 a.m., at 6900 North Western Avenue, near the intersection of Western and Morse Avenues.
The masked offenders, armed with a long screwdriver, ran off with a Blackberry cell phone and other unspecified proceeds.
During their investigation, police recovered a mask and a screwdriver in an alley behind 2422 West Morse Avenue, and a duffle bag containing a cell phone, at 2433 West Coyle Avenue.
One of the offenders was also arrested.
Authorities are still looking for the second suspect. He was described as African-American and approximately 5’11”. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with a red or orange “Jordan” logo on it.
Investigators said the thieves broke a window at the fast food restaurant and may have tampered with a safe in a back office.

ReplyDeleteIn the time it took to break a window, get back to the office where the safe is, mess around with it.. the police could have been there. Did no one call 911 WHILE these ghetto thugs were doing all this?
I got the impression the employees were being held at bay with a screwdriver. And someone's cell phone was stolen.
ReplyDeleteSince the thieves later discarded the stolen phone, I'm guessing they took it to keep them from calling the police. Which also makes me wonder is the robbers tried to disable the phones at McDonald's.
Frankly, I had no idea that McDonald's was open 24-hours.
