Authorities said a man was attacked and robbed near a 24-hour grocery store.
According to a police dispatch report, the crime happened around 1:15 a.m. outside the Dominick’s Finer Foods store at 2021 West Chicago, near the intersection of Chicago and Damen Avenues.
Police said the victim was mugged by a twenty-something-year-old “Polish” man in a black jacket.
The offender assaulted the complainant and snatched his Nikon camera, said authorities.
When the thief fled the scene southbound on Damen Avenue, the victim chased the offender, slipped in a puddle, and injured his knee.
The victim was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital.
