A man called police after being mugged on a south side CTA platform, said authorities.
The armed robbery occurred around 12:30 a.m. at the 47th Street Red Line station at 220 West 47th Street.
According to the victim, the thief displayed a gun and stole his cell phone.
The crook was described as an African-American man wearing a blue sports jacket with the word “FEDERAL” written on the back. He was also wearing a pair of blue and black Nike Air Force One gym shoes.
The suspect is 5’7” to 5’8” and approximately 160 lbs.
Police said the offender is armed with a "380 caliber handgun".

ReplyDeleteNow that's how a description should be. Doubt he'll ditch those shoes because they're not cheap..unless of course, he stole them. Same with the jacket. Bravo to the victim for giving a great description of the perp.
Towanda, this victim did exactly what YOU suggested. He paid attention to the thief's shoes and the details of the offender's clothing - not just the colors. :-)
ReplyDeleteIt's really the only way a thief MIGHT get arrested. Aren't all these articles you put up Timothy considered "violent crime"..didn't Wies say, once again, "violent crime is down?"
ReplyDeleteIt would be interesting to have the statistics of these muggings for just 1 day. 100's of these crimes are committed everyday and the perps get away with it. The sad thing is that it's only getting worse.
