  1. Pre-1990s, this location was home to Record Warehouse, Peaches and Coconuts record stores.

  2. Sad. The Internet killed the record stores.

  3. Yes, in some cases. :(

In other cases, the traditional store was over priced with meager selections and sometimes rude employees.

  4. I used to LOVE to go shopping for new records and CDs!

Every Saturday, after spending way too much money in Marshall Field's, I'd dart in and out of every music store in the area looking for club remixes and news tunes!

Those were the good old days!

  5. I remember Downtown Records, Loop Records, Rock Records, Crows Nest, Big Daddy's/Peaches/Coconuts (now FYE), Rose (later Tower) Records and Musicland. Woolworth's had reduced, unopened LPs and cassettes.

Reckless Records and FYE are the main CD store now, unless one counts Border's and Barnes & Noble too.
